Ted Perkins with CRAZEntertainment and VOY Pictures has optioned Comic Relief, a buddy road trip comedy written specifically for a Chinese audience, from InkTip scribe Doug Simonton. This is Simonton's fifth option; Perkins, although currently living in LA, works extensively in overseas markets.

Joey Nasser of Nasser Group North has discovered InkTip scribe David Blanc after reading David's script, 'An Angel's Tale' on InkTip, and has hired the writer to pen a feature. Some of Mr. Nasser's credits include 'The Last Brickmaker in America' (starring Sidney Poitier), 'A Father's Choice' (starring Peter Strauss and Michelle Trachtenberg), and they are currently in post-production on 'Impulse' (starring Angus Macfadyen)! PHD Productions, a Vancouver-based boutique studio, has purchased 'Sewn' from InkTip scribes Mark Garbett and David Andrew Lloyd. Now in preproduction, 'Sewn' is scheduled to shoot in February 2008. This will be Garbett's second produced credit, to follow up on 'Midnight Movie,' which was produced by Bigfoot Entertainment.

Gino Alfonso of Itchy Productions has optioned the short script 'Harmony' by scribe Rie Natalenko. Alfonso is currently in post-production on two features, '#1 Priority' (a zombie horror film) and 'A Vintage Romance' (a gay coming-out, coming-of-age film). Natalenko has a Doctor of Creative Arts in screenwriting, and her scripts have won the IF award for 'best unproduced screenplay in Australia' for Heloise and was a 2005 Nicholl semi-finalist among other accolades.

Aaron Weisblatt's short script 'Campfire Break-up' recently completed production in Los Angeles. The script was found on InkTip by Linda Andersson of Showbiz Shorts. Weisblatt directed the film that showcases the up and coming star Bryan McGowan. Andersson stated that Aaron "is a great writer/director. We plan to use him again for future projects."

Sean Thomas and Tandees Tanavoli of ChefThomas-Filmatica have optioned 'Crush on You' by writer Maria Lusby. Sean Thomas's recent credits include 'Fall Down Dead' with Dominique Swain and David Carradine. Tandees Tanavoli is a veteran TV and film producer and promoter who created and produced 'Impromptu,' which garnered three Leo Award nominations. Brit helmer Robert Young, who is known for 'Splitting Heirs' (with Eric Idle, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Rick Moranis), is on board to direct. Young also just recently wrapped shooting on 'Wild Blue Yonder' with Lauren Bacall and Brian Cox. This is Maria Lusby's first option – in fact, this is the first script Maria Lusby has ever written!

David Sterling of Sterling Entertainment has discovered and hired InkTip scribe Carlos Perez for a writer-for-hire opportunity after having read his script, 'Don't Go in the Basement' on InkTip. David has a number of credits to his name, including two features where the writer was found on InkTip, one of which, Pirates of Ghost Island, (written by Kristin J. Johnson and Pauline Thomas) is being distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment. After having produced 7 films, Pirates of Ghost Island was Mitch Toles's directorial debut.

Ryan Vernon, formerly with Avatar Entertainment, hit upon writer Mark Davidson's script, Blue Blood, on InkTip.com, leading Avatar Entertainment to hire Mr. Davidson to write the screenplay The Lost Tribe. Principal photography began this month and the film is scheduled for a Summer 2008 release. After optioning and producing Richard Dane Scott's screenplay, Cathy in Space (found on InkTip!), Anita Udeep of Pentamedia has hired Scott to do rewrites on one of her own scripts. Scott, who is repped by InkTipper Jeff Belkin of Foremost Films, has had a number of short films produced by InkTip members, as well as a couple of feature options and hires. Pentamedia specializes in family-oriented animation features. Their previous credits include an animated version of Gulliver's Travels and now Cathy in Space.

Dutch scribe Y.J. Boertje has optioned the short script Figment to Roughneck Pictures and director Jay Lee to be made for the 7 Deadly Films Festival (www.deadlyevent.com). The film has completed production and stars two local favorite actors, Kimber Leigh and Aaron Burckle, in the key roles. "InkTip.com played an important role in this production as I needed to come up with a script in a fairly short period of time," said Jay Lee. "It's a site I come to regularly when I'm ready to make my next film as it offers a wide variety of storylines and genres to choose from. With so many talented writers offering up their ideas, it's really a director's dream when selecting projects to produce."

Monalisa Dasgupta has optioned and produced the short script When Summer Comes from scribe Rita Wheeler, and is in the process of editing the film. Dasgupta is originally from India and will be making crossover movies in the USA and India in near future. Her first short Homecoming was greatly appreciated on the festival circuit. Wheeler has had success with her screenwriting and was recently commissioned to write a feature film for Ather Chaudhary of South East Productions.

Ira is currently in preproduction on All of Me, with Queen Latifah attached to star and Adam Shankman (whose credits include Hairspray with John Travolta, The Pacifier with Vin Diesel, and Premonition with Sandra Bullock) attached to direct, and which New Line will distribute. Caracciola is also in preproduction on another script, Elementary Pimp, to which he's secured the attachment of Eddie Griffin.

Tony Forti at Cinemedia has recently hired Robert Adamo as a writer-for-hire to adapt some original concepts into a screenplay. Tony has done numerous music videos and Broadway plays such as Knockout with Danny Aiello (directed by Frank Corsaro) as well as Richard Pryor Live in Concert. "Robert Adamo is just a great, great writer!" exclaimed Tony. The two are set to get this screenplay written and produced, and hopefully go into production on 2 more of Robert's scripts. Robert is an experienced writer and currently has 10 high concept feature scripts ready to go. Mr. Adamo is also currently finishing up his first novel, which he will also adapt into a screenplay.

John Murlowski with Dog Productions has optioned AND completed production on Marlowe, which was written by InkTip scribe Steve Peterson. Murlowski's previous credits include Black Cadillac. Fast Girl, written by InkTip scribe D. Glase Lomond (along with Luke Ricci), has secured distribution though Allumination Filmworks for a nationwide DVD release. MarVista Entertainment is handling television and international distribution on this feature film. If Glase Lomond's name sounds familiar, that's because he had another script option announced just earlier this month. Fast Girl was directed by Daniel Zirilli, who has more than twenty directing and producing credits to his resume, and Lomond has written or co-written four of them. Congratulations to them both! Fast Girl was produced by Matador Films, and in association with Popart Film Factory.

Eric Pham of Phame Factory has entered into an option agreement with InkTip writer Larry Postel pertaining to Larry's script, 'Kid Spaghetti.' Eric discovered Larry's screenplay over a year ago when a script of Postel's, 'X-Mas Files,' piqued his interest, but was optioned by another person. The two kept in contact afterwards, which resulted in talks for 'Kid Spaghetti.' Eric and Larry have been in the works with the script for over a year and the two have finally sealed the deal. Eric's credits include visual effects on a number of high budgeted feature films. This will be his first feature as a producer.

Michelle Purple with Iron Ocean Films has completed production on the short film 'Hole in the Paper Sky,' which she found on InkTip. The film, which stars Jessica Biel, Stephen Collins, Garry Marshall, Jeffrey Nordling, and Jason Clarke, will be screening at CAA in November. 'Hole in the Paper Sky,' which was written by InkTip scribe Howard Kingkade, was directed by Bill Purple and produced by Michelle Purple and Jessica Biel.

Rich Poche of Poche Pictures has begun principal photography on the romantic comedy feature 'Rescuing Rufus,' by Daniel Hughes, which stars Stuart Brazell (of the reality show 'Dirty Dancing'), Elizabeth Di Prinzio, Gina DeVettori, Natalie Edwards, Sara Konecky, and Elizabeth Lauren Hoffman (from youtube's popular 'Blonde Star'). Having directed multiple award-winning shorts, including 'The Wanderer,' and the boxing documentary 'Corazon,' this will be Poche's feature directorial debut. This is not the first time Hughes has been hired to write a screenplay, but it is the first one to go into production!

That publicity raised his profile AND industry awareness of the project, resulting indirectly in getting Eddie Griffin attached to the project! Carmine recently told us that 'the recognition FROM the option helped me meet the producers and talent...' Juan Frausto of Vendetta Pictures has commenced principle photography on the horror feature 'RoadKill,' which was written by InkTip scribe David Zagorski. 'Roadkill' stars Siboney Lo, Rosa Ysela Frausto, Noel Guglielmi, and Nicolas Guzman, and is about a serial killer who picks up and murders hitchhikers – only to pick up and face off with another serial killer who murders people who pick up hitchhikers. (Finally, a film that pits two serial killers against each other!) Frausto's previous credits include 'Get Pony Boy' and 'Once Upon a Time in the Hood.' This is Zagorski's second option through InkTip; his last option resulted in a produced film entitled 'The Wickeds,' which starred Ron Jeremy.

Cube Vision is currently in production on 'First Sunday,' starring Ice Cube, Tracy Morgan, Regina Hall and Chi McBride, and scheduled to release January 2008. Some of Cube Vision's recent credits include 'Are We Done Yet?' (with Ice Cube, Nia Long and John C. Mitchell Galin of Bebe Delight Productions optioned 'Break Free' from writers Scott Perlman and Leo Simone after seeing their award-winning pilot on InkTip. 'Break Free' wasn't even listed on InkTip at the time, but Galin liked their writing style, so he asked if they had anything else, and the rest is history. Mitchell Galin and his partner Lenny Sisselman just finished production on 'The Apostles of Comedy,' which is scheduled for an early 2008 release. This is technically Scott Perlman's first option, although he sold a feature script last year, and is currently working on hire for a FOX Sports documentary.

Rich Newey with Station3 has completed production on 'I Tried,' a project onto which he hired InkTip scribe Kevin Caruso as a screenwriter. 'I Tried,' which stars (among others) all the members of Bone Thugs N' Harmony, explores the potential lives these hip-hop stars might have led if they'd never had the opportunity to audition for Eazy-E. This is writer Caruso's third option through InkTip. 'I Tried' is out on DVD right now, and can be rented or purchased through all retail outlets.

We are happy to announce that Pablo Lewin of Pablo Lewin Productions LLC has completed production on the short film 'BUMS Inc.,' written by John Southerland. You can find the film on DVDs around the festival circuit. Lewin produced, directed, and acted in the film that was shot in the streets of downtown Los Angeles and Burbank.

'Skid Marks,' a film written by InkTipper Kraig Wenman and directed by Karl Kozak of Diversa Films, had its premiere in San Diego on the 5th. Tobe Sexton of The TCS Productions optioned 'The Good' by scribe Brian Jude Leahy, which was found through InkTip. Among other producing credits, Sexton recently did 'The Metrosexual' starring Colm Meany, Mya, Shaun Benson, and Nick Paonessa. 'The Metrosexual' has so far been accepted by 18 festivals, screened the opening night at 8 of them, won Best of Fest at 2 of them, was nominated for 12 awards, and has won 2 accolades. Mark McNabb with Skylight Films hired scribe Barry Cowan to write the script 'Billy Owens and the Secret of the Runes.' This project is now in production, and stars famed wrestler and action star Roddy Piper (who is known for, among other projects, his role in John Carpenter's 'They Live'). This is actually a sequel to the soon-to-be-released 'The Mystical Adventures of Billy Owens,' which will be screened at AFM in Santa Monica next month, and which is being released by Artist View Entertainment. 'I never would have met Barry if I hadn't met you guys first,' Mark related in a recent phone conversation. This isn't Barry Cowan's first hire or option through InkTip, although it is his first movie to get produced.

Award winning actress and producer, Barbara Kerr Condon of Footprints Productions, has optioned the short screenplay 'Just Desserts' by Darlene Lofgren. This particular screenplay is based on a short story, 'Sweet Vengeance' 'by Peter Wales. 'Just Desserts' goes into production in Sept. 2007. Ms. Lofgren has an extensive history as a producer/director/writer/performer in television, as a publisher/editor/reporter for newspapers, and has been nominated for an Academy Award with the San Francisco Chapter for producing/directing/editing the documentary 'So You Want to Leave Home?' Ms. Lofgren has written for newspapers and a local TV channel she originated in Cleveland, TX over the last twenty years (The Cleveland News and Cleveland Cable Channel 5).

Ira Posnansky of Eclectic Filmworks has contracted Nicholas Turner to pen the script 'Track 61,' a thriller set in New York. Posnansky is currently in preproduction on 'All of Me,' with Queen Latifah attached to star and Adam Shankman (whose credits include 'Hairspray' with John Travolta, 'The Pacifier' with Vin Diesel, and 'Premonition' with Sandra Bullock) attached to direct, and which New Line will distribute (see IMDbPro.com for updates on this project). Rich Poche of Poche Pictures hired screenwriter Daniel Hughes to write the feature screenplay 'Rescuing Rufus,' which is 3 weeks away from going into production, and will star Stuart Brazell of the reality show 'Dirty Dancing.' Having directed multiple award-winning shorts, including 'The Wanderer,' and the boxing documentary 'Corazon,' this will be Poche's feature directorial debut. This is not the first time Hughes has been hired to write a screenplay, but it is the first one to go into production (fingers crossed!).

Scribe Scott Marcano has been hired to write a script for Ira Posnansky of Eclectic Filmworks. Posnansky discovered Marcano after perusing the site for writers. This will not be the first project for Marcano, who has sold four projects to studios like MGM and Disney and had his feature 'Bio-Dome' starring Paulie Shore produced. In addition to directing the 2006 Multi-Cultural Prism Awards Show, Marcano has just wrapped production on his directorial debut 'The Journey,' which will premiere at several festivals this fall. He has also authored and published two comic books 'The Unwanted' and 'Hum,' and the fantasy epic novel 'The People of the Sea,' which is available through Amazon.com. Posnansky currently has the rights to 'All of Me,' and is in prepro on a remake with Queen Latifah attached to star.

Timothy P. Riley of Triton Entertainment has optioned the feature script 'Love Is All Around' by scribe Rita Wheeler. Riley discovered the logline listed in our producer newsletter. He believes the script is a 'terrific romantic comedy project for an established mature actress in her late 40's or early 50's.' Riley stated that they were drawn to Rita's natural style with dialogue and soft edged character development. Plans are to produce the feature later this year. Triton has previously produced 'Wrong Number' starring Eric Roberts and is currently developing 'Wireless' with Ken Nakamura and Patrick Durham as well as other projects. This is the first feature option for Wheeler.

Mike Burns has optioned his script 'Beyond the Goal' to David Basulto of Clarity Pictures. Basulto found the script after Burns submitted to him through our newsletter. Burns, whose script is based on a book, is a produced writer. His half-hour dramatic TV pilot won the prestigious platinum Remi award at the 2006 WorldFest Film Festival. 'Living For Yesterday' is a story of a man who goes back in time to hunt down his wife's killer. Judith will team up with longtime collaborator David Greathouse to produce the film. Writing team Seth and David Bier are working with Josh Lawler and Tom Zuber of Legaci Pictures on a second project. Legaci Pictures and WhiteBoy Films posted a call for scripts in the InkTip newsletter, to which Seth and David responded. They were then hired to write a new screenplay based on a story by Zuber and John Marino. After a successful working relationship on the script, Seth and David were hired to write another screenplay for the company. "This never would have happened without InkTip, so thank you for providing this network that creates such rare opportunities," said Seth Bier. Scribe David Dmitri Broitman was hired to write a feature for John Johnson of Darkstone Entertainment. The script is entitled 'Democ.' Johnson found Broitman on InkTip many years ago for a different project. Impressed by his writing, Johnson stayed in contact with Broitman, which led to 'Democ.' Broitman is a produced writer with a couple features to his credit, including 'Don't Shoot the Pharmacist!', which he also produced. 'Don't Shoot The Pharmacist!' marks his feature directorial debut. InkTip scribe Jack Vandagriff has optioned his feature script 'Ducks' to Heinrich Dahms of Buzzmedia in the Netherlands. This is the first option for Vandagriff, who is a publicist at a major studio. Dahms has picked up a number of scripts through InkTip, including the feature script 'Black,' on which he is currently moving forward.

Tim VandeSteeg (producer/director) of Indiewood Pictures in Los Angeles has hired InkTip scribe Tim O'Brien to write the biographical drama 'Chasing Me' based on the tumultuous life of Ironman athlete Jason Lester. Mr. Vandesteeg hired Mr. O'Brien after the success of their previous collaboration, the romantic comedy feature film 'Fall Into Me,' which was featured on the June 2006 cover of the InkTip magazine. BP Cooper Pictures has optioned the feature script 'Too True' from scribe Peter Ivan, which BP Cooper found on InkTip. The script is a Nicholl Fellowship semi-finalist and will be directed by Bradley King. Previously, Ivan wrote the 2006 launch episode of Bryan Brown's prime-time mystery TV series 'Two Twisted,' titled 'There's Something About Kyanna,' starring Melissa George. BP Cooper's producing credits include 'Flourish' and 'Cosmic Radio.'

Blythe Frank of Catman and Mary Film/Video has optioned the feature script 'Knife in the Sand,' written by Arthur Egeli, Ian Bowater and Deborah Cordes. Egeli is scheduled to direct the film. The feature 'The Art of Passion,' written and directed by Egeli, was released on DVD through Genius Entertainment on April 10. Blythe Frank was one of the producers of the 2005 feature film 'Kettle of Fish.'

Marie Hegwood of Demolition Pictures has optioned the feature script 'The Education of Pedro,' by scribe Keith Estrada. Hegwood discovered Estrada's script when he submitted to her lead through our newsletter. Estrada co-wrote the film 'The Midas Touch' which was distributed by Paramount and aired on HBO. Demolition Pictures is a documentary and film production company. Their credits include an Emmy for investigative programming, a series of documentaries for VH1 and CNBC, and a five-DVD documentary series that profiles underground fight clubs for women, which will be nationally distributed.

James Ytuarte, President of Veterans Entertainment Group, was introduced to Mike after reading another script that he posted on InkTip. Michael Chase Walker, a veteran animation producer, has recently signed as a writer with Amber Leone of the ALM Tree Agency who discovered him on InkTip. Since taking Michael on as a client, Amber has managed to get his scripts into a number of hands, and for a variety of different opportunities - one of the most interesting of which is a teaching engagement at Dreamworks. Since branching off on her own and creating the ALM Tree Agency, Amber has managed to build and develop a number of contacts and relationships - and since going into a full-time career as a writer, Michael has managed to develop and create quite a number of very original and unique scripts and stories, many of which are currently posted on InkTip. Scribe Terry Aderholt was found on InkTip by Steve Rosenberg of Rendez Vous Films. Rosenberg has hired Aderholt to collaborate on a script with him. The project is currently untitled. Rosenberg's dramatic film, 'Watching Mrs. Pomerantz,' was screened in various festivals around the world and earned him a best director award at the World Toronto Short Film Festival. It continues to be screened on Canadian television and in the U.S. on The Sundance Channel.

Producer Roger Soffer, whose previous credits include 'Slow Burn' with Minnie Driver and James Spader, has optioned the feature script 'Cheating Death' from writing team David Barrouk, Nick Millett, and Julie Grelley. Soffer discovered the script after listing a lead to writers in our newsletter. This is Barrouk's first screenplay. As a French screenwriter-director, Barrouk has made short films, which have won awards at various film festivals and been broadcast on several European channels, including Canal+, TPS, and France 2. David Gaddie of Bioscope Inc. has optioned the feature script 'Crossing the Divide' by Tammy and Kevin Hamilton. Tammy and Kevin submitted their script to Gaddie when he placed a lead in our newsletter. The screenwriters live in the UK and have flown to New York to develop the script with Gaddie. This is the first deal for the Hamiltons; however, they are working with another producer through InkTip on a book adaptation. Originally from Sydney, David Gaddie was one of the top five commercial directors in Australia, with credits including Heineken, Toyota, and TNT.

Caruso's own script 'Running' came in fourth place in the 2006 Cinestory Screenwriting Competition while his other screenplay 'The Rut' took first place; the first time in the competition's history that two scripts from the same writer advanced to the finals!

Joram Moreka and Henrik Larsson of Wild Lunch Productions optioned the feature script "Friend Request" by Joe Chun after finding it on InkTip. Larsson began his career in the industry at a young age, playing one of the lead roles in two films by Oscar-nominated director Lasse Hallstrom. He has produced various internationally-financed features. Moreka began producing features in his native country of Kenya. Since relocating to Los Angeles, he has co-executive produced the feature "Ghostly Revenge." This is the second script from writer Joe Chun they optioned. Chun has now had three InkTip successes over the past year.

In addition to completing the script that WhiteBread Productions hired her to pen last September, scribe Ellen Pill has optioned another feature script to Jina Panebianco of WhiteBread, 'Shelley Greenberg is Fine,' which Panebianco found on InkTip. Pill works fulltime as a writer and is a contributing editor with Discovery Girls magazine. Panebianco's produced feature credits include '9 Lives of Mara,' and she is a recipient of the Golden Trailer Award.

Production began in December 2006 and will be completed soon. Cortez Davis had a comedy, 'The Church Girl,' previously optioned by Mr. Grace, who commented, 'Cortez is one of the most gifted, timely writers that I have come across, and I never would have found him if it weren't for InkTip!'

Allen Martinez of Softcelluoid Films has hired the writing team of Matthew Spira and Russell Totten to collaborate on turning Martinez's award winning short film 'Intelligence' into a feature script. 'Intelligence' was originally written as a short by InkTip scribe Timothy Kernc, and the film received a long list of awards, including the 2006 Gold Audience Award at Sundance Center, 2006 Best Drama at the DIY Film Festival, and 2006 Best Short Film Narrative at the Silver Lake Film Festival. Spira's and Totten's script 'The Mine' on InkTip is what caught Martinez's attention. Spira and Totten recently completed revisions for James Pax of China's Art Spot Entertainment Group and live in Korea and Japan (respectively).

Producer Daniel Oron has completed production on the short film 'Look Both Ways', written by Jeffrey K. Rohrs. The film was produced by Oron and Rohrs, who met through InkTip and decided to produce the film in a US/Canada co-production. They shot it in Toronto, and it will be premiering there on January 27th. A sneak preview screening happened in late November at the Miami International Short Film Festival.

Craig Nicholls of Pendle View LLC is working with InkTip scribe Greg Bowyer on two of his scripts. Nicholls discovered Bowyer's work on InkTip. Established in October 2001, Pendle View is headed by former Blue Rider Pictures' Director of Development & Production Craig Nicholls. During his tenure at Blue Rider, Mr. Nicholls developed and delivered fifteen features and a documentary, working with partners such as Walden Media, Dimension Films, Artisan Entertainment, Showtime Networks, Trimark Pictures, the Fox Family Channel, et al. He produced two TV movies for Lifetime this year by other InkTip writers.

Karen Kleyla of Red Dot Film Studio has completed production on the TV teaser for the new television show 'Raphelo's Pizzeria,' written by InkTip scribe Carmine Caracciola. Kleyla discovered Caracciola on InkTip. Caracciola flew in from NY for the filming and even starred in the project along with Tony Longo (How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, Mulholland Drive) Joey Diaz (The Longest Yard, Spiderman 2, Analyze That) and Danny Musico (Law & Order, Hell's Kitchen NYC). Brandon Kleyla directed the short teaser that was produced by Red Dot Film Studios. Red Dot is currently shopping the pilot. This is the second success through InkTip for Caracciola, who had a feature script of hers optioned last spring.

Bellino and Second Wind are developing three feature length projects, on one of which this short script will be based. Production of the short is planned for spring '07.
