Anyone conducting filming or a photo shoot within the City of Melbourne must apply for a permit for the use of a public space. This ensures that your activity is conducted in accordance with safety and amenity regulations.
Situated just 45 minutes from Queensland's capital Brisbane, and one hours flight north of Sydney, the Gold Coast is serviced by two international airports. Getting here is relatively easy, giving international producers access to a myriad of big screen locations.
As one of Australia's leading filming locations, the Gold Coast exposes filmmakers to a diverse range of locations from pristine coastlines, lush rainforests and modern cityscape - all within close proximity to world-class studios. A reason why we have a growing portfolio of productions filmed on the Gold Coast.
The city also offers producers competitive costs, film financial incentives (independent from state and national programs) under our Film Attraction Program and experienced local production crews that ensure the success of productions on the Gold Coast.
OUR PURPOSE:
Screenworks supports and provides leadership for the development of an innovative, vibrant and sustainable regional screen industry (film, television, online, games and apps), with a particular focus on the Northern Rivers region of NSW.
We do this by providing professional development and networking opportunities and services for screen content creators and workers, which are delivered in the Northern Rivers and beyond.
We promote Northern Rivers-based screen projects, events and people and our unique regional cluster to the NSW, national and international industry via our communications and marketing strategies.
We also assist local and non-local productions in the Northern Rivers region through location and crew referral services, and stimulate screen culture by promoting screenings and discussion of local and Australian films for the broader community.

The Hunter region is home to some of the finest and most diverse cinematic locations Australia has to offer. From spectacular sand dunes, beaches, harbours and rivers to the picturesque vineyards and mountain ranges. Add sweeping plains, horse studs, open cut mines and historical architecture, and you'll soon realise we have almost every location covered.
The aim of Screen Hunter is to capitalise on the unique qualities of our region by increasing film production whilst fostering and driving the development of a creative and sustainable film industry in the Hunter.
Screen Hunter are committed to local industry development and creating networking initiatives to connect industry practitioners throughout the region as well as maintaining a relationship with the greater community to ensure they are a part of the filming activities.
Staffed by industry professionals, the Office actively promotes its breathtaking locations to film makers and is a one-stop-shop for filming approvals, location scouting assistance, sourcing of local crew, services and support. As a result we have secured films such as Superman Returns, Matrix Reloaded, Wolverine and Tomorrow When the War Began as well as thousands of local, national and international television commercials, documentaries, programs and music videos for our region.
Once the Office secures filming to the region, we have an extensive membership database of local film professionals, support businesses and contacts to tap in to, that results in local employment and verifiable regional spend.
The Office streamlines the film permitting process by brokering approvals with a variety of Government Departments. Screen Hunter has 'delegated authority' to issue all filming approvals for the eleven Hunter Councils, Hunter Region National Parks and Wildlife Services, along with Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council and many other private and public organisations.
In the last twelve months Screen Hunter has approved more film, stills and television productions than most of the other regional screen offices in New South Wales combined. The local spend involved in screen related activities last year was estimated at over $25 million.
The Office was established in 2001 and is proudly supported by the NSW Department of Industry & Investment, Screen NSW, Hunter Councils as well as the support of many local service providers and members.
