Need
an objective eye? Trained screenwriter, reader and teacher on hand to help
writers of all experiences, novice to veteran, to achieve their best draft
yet!
DON'T PAY BIG PRICES
I disagree with the idea that writers must pay extortionate prices for
coverage AND wait ages for it, but that doesn't mean BANG2WRITE is false
economy. Every writer and script is different and I strive to ensure that
my clients get exactly what they need, whether it's advice on structure,
format, characterization, arena, who to send to or even grammar and spelling.
What's more, you NEVER have to wait more than two weeks for it!
WHO WE ARE
I trained in scriptwriting and reading at Bournemouth University, England
on its renowned BA (Hons) Scriptwriting for Film and TV course. I have had
many commissions of my own since graduating in 2003, including storylining
for games and toys, copywriting prospectuses and a variety of shorts and
features for independent producers. I am also trained in TEFL, meaning I
can deal well with non-native English Speakers and specialized in teaching
adults when I did a PGCE at Exeter University in 2005. I am now a script
editor on the METLAB initiative in conjunction with London Metropolitan
University on this basis.

NO NEED FOR THE P.O. - EMAIL YOUR WORK!
Whatever you need, whether you need one-off coverage or perhaps more long-term
tuition in getting your script "ready to go", I can help! Clients
are welcome to submit scripts and work via email and pay with Paypal. International
clients welcome - BANG2WRITE has read for writers as far and wide as Australia,
New Zealand, Germany, Spain and Italy as well as the UK and US!
WHAT WE OFFER
OVERVIEW REPORT £35/$70 (features up to 100 pages, add 00.25p/00.45c per
page if over)
Need a "trial run" before you send out to producers or literary
agents? Then our "OVERVIEW" REPORT is for you! As its name suggests,
this gives a broad overview of your work over 2-3 pages and any questions
it might raise plot-wise, plus a logline, so you might see how an objective
reader sees your work. Got a short film? Email for a quote on what you need,
good deals available on overview reports and development notes.
ANNOTATED SCRIPT SERVICE £40/$73
Not sure about your format? Perhaps you're worried about your dialogue,
how you describe characters or whether your arena is coming across? This
service helps writers see what a reader sees by drawing attention to mistakes
on the page itself, offering clear solutions. Hard copies only for this
service please, though still feel free to pay via paypal.
DEVELOPMENT NOTES £45/$85
Undoubtedly BANG2WRITE's most popular service, clients receive a logline
of their work and between 6-8 pages typical (sometimes more!) of notes on
their work, drawing attention to key areas that need development with clear,
logical suggestions for improvement.
DEVELOPMENT NOTES PLUS STARTING AT £65/$120
Perhaps you want a combination of the above services? Many clients want
notes AND an annotation for example and in which case, we usually do these
for the above prices, dependent on how long the script is. Others want notes
and an hour-long phone call about them. I've even been asked to "mark"
work according to specific briefs as a practice before clients give it in
to their tutors on courses or at university. Whatever you want, just let
BANG2WRITE know - we can do it (as long as it's writing-related!).
E-TUTORING £15 per hour/$28 per hour
BANG2WRITE's list of e-students is growing steadily. We've helped clients
with study skills, grammar, format, treatment writing - you name it! You're
welcome to troubleshoot projects or issues on a one-off or occasional basis
or be one of my regulars. You can even choose how you want to do it: some
like to talk via instant message, whilst others like to send work back and
forth over email. If you wanted to call me, you could even include phoning
or a combination of all three. Up to you! Bang2write is completely student-centred.
Just email for more details.

GOOD CLASSES AND BOOKS FOR WRITERS
GET CREATIVE CONSULTANTS, THE SCREENWRITERS' STORE and THE SCRIPT FACTORY,
UK all offer excellent classes for new and experienced writers alike. I
have attended lectures and classes with all three and speakers have included
Syd Field, Tony Jordan and Peter Bowker.
THE TECHNIQUE OF SCREENPLAY WRITING By Eugene Vale is undoubtedly my favourite
book, especially as it offers a fantastic insight into "old" conventions,
having been written in 1944; it just shows though what goes into "good"
writing never changes.
In addition, I am a philosophy freak and recommend POETICS by Aristotle,
where The Three Act Structure was first outlined; this is an amazing piece
of literature. In addition, ANTIGONE by Sophocles, though a drama, is one
of the best examples of "start late and finish early" I have ever
read. Those interested in structure and interpretation would also be particularly
interested in the THE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE NARRATIVE by French Philosopher
Roland Barthes; it is quite a revelation.
LOOK FORWARD TO READING YOUR WORK!
