But DuBois, with an MFA in screenwriting from UCLA and multiple options already under his belt, had the right background and writing sample for Barmettler's project. DuBois, who's won more Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Awards than any student in the history of UCLA, remarked "I've had a number of my screenplays optioned through the old industry way of knocking on doors and cold calling. Even though that approach still works, I like that the producers on InkTip actually know what they want to make."

All of his stories have a unique twist at the end and contain social and psychological circumstances.

This is Cecil Green's first writing assignment through InkTip, and we don't think it'll be his last. Palmer actually stated in a recent email that "of all the InkTip scripts and synopses we read, Cecil's was the best. If you are looking for someone you can have confidence in referring for a special project, Cecil is your man." And Cecil even stated in a recent email that "this will be an incredible journey," which is precisely the sort of attitude that takes a writer far. So we're looking forward to more people discovering him in the near future.

Joe Nasser already has a prolific list of credits on his resume including "What Goes Up" with Hilary Duff, and the recent "Courage" with Jason Priestly, which was written by a screenwriter discovered on InkTip. In fact, he just wrapped his latest feature "H2K," which stars Eric Roberts and Steve Austin. We're looking forward to announcing more projects in 2010.

And it's a good fit for Craig because, since coming to work at the former Ed Silver Agency, Babz has been able to turn what was a hard year for many agents into a banner year for her company and writers. So we expect 2010 will be an even better year for the Silver Bitela Agency.

Because of Lapenda's status and connections in the MMA world, he has access to some of the most recognizable stars worldwide, and is actively working with them in their careers as they transition into the action stars of tomorrow. Of course we're hoping to feature "Merciless" on the cover some day as well.

We're always excited when we get to mention another completed Nasser Brothers film because Joe already had three dozen feature credits to his resume before he joined InkTip, and now the scripts he's been finding on InkTip are beginning to join his list of produced features. Some of these include "Christmas Crash" with Michael Madsen, "Desperate Hours" with Tom Berenger, and this latest project, "Courage," Starring Jason Priestly (Beverly Hills 90210) and Andrea Roth (Rescue Me). Luis Cruz was the first writer Nasser discovered on InkTip - in fact, Cruz was a co-writer on all three of the titles mentioned so far in this announcement - so when we say Nasser makes most of the scripts he finds on InkTip, we're sure Luis Cruz will agree. These first few credits helped Cruz land representation with a major management company as well, so his writing career is now well underway.

Babz, President of the Ed Silver Agency (WGA/AFTRA), was brought on board to help the team negotiate a series of offers, and her relentless efforts in dealings resulted in Wagner's first feature writing credit and Youngs being attached as director. She says, "It's exciting that they know we are out here reading and scouring the planet for them." She continues, "I read everything myself. And it's a real joy. Especially when the scripts are so solid. We may be in Northern California, but we operate as if we are on the 9000 block of Wilshire Blvd." We look forward to more collaborative projects between Wagner & Youngs and additional news brought forth by Babz.

Keith has been working with Jay ever since Jay optioned 2 of his scripts through InkTip in 2005 and this is the first completed film to come out of this partnership. "The Unwelcome," Keith wrote, directed, produced, and edited the picture and the story is based on the Enfield Poltergeist case that happened in the late 1970's, a heavily documented series of events dealing with the alleged haunting and levitation of a teenage girl in a London suburb, and that has been surrounded by controversy. The team has other projects in development and we're looking forward to mentioning them again in upcoming announcements.

Based on the true story of Gene "Lefty" Bearden, "The Knuckeballer" is not just a baseball tale, but according to Murphy, a "story about not giving up on your dreams, even when common sense tells you that the odds are stacked against you." This script has won or placed in several competitions so far and the two parties are excited to move it through pre-production. Murphy is a UCLA-trained writer who enjoys writing scripts based on fascinating real-life people with untold stories.

The contest-winning horror-comedy script with the straightforward name has been selected for the Screen Producers Australia Association competition. Egan directed the 2004 feature “Love in the First Degree.” Earlier this year, one of Balsam’s sitcom pilot scripts was optioned by StinkTV and is currently being shot in Los Angeles. Regarding “Blood-Sucking Leeches,” Balsam states that he “often thought of taking it down whenever it came up for renewal. However, the award-winning screenplay always got positive comments," and he "felt that the script just hadn't found the right producer." Balsam’s perseverance in refining his logline and synopsis paid off in the form of his second option to a producer who is passionate about his story.

Mario Domina with ThunderBall Films, LLC optioned "The House That Jack Built" by Margie Mack after discovering the script on the site. Her script tells the story of a murder and wrongful conviction in 1955 which permanently changed the face of politics and law enforcement in Chicago, and it's a particularly personal tale for her, because the real murderer - the one who escaped as someone else was imprisoned in his place - was Margie's father. Part of what got Mario interested in the project was a link in Margie's synopsis to a trailer developed for the film which helped him with the visuals of the story and era. Mario has a penchant for discovering and developing based-on-true stories; some of his other projects in development include "Escape from Paradise," a project based on Amazon's #1 Singaporean best seller for four consecutive years (where it was banned for political reasons), "The House of the Baskervilles," and "DragonMan," all three of which Mario discovered on InkTip. ThunderBall Films is also currently in pre-production on its feature indie project "The Beautiful Outsiders," with Corey Feldman, Malcolm McDowell and Samantha Fox attached to star. Writer Margie Mack has sold stories to the popular "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book series, but this is her first film success.

Alexia Melocchi Reps InkTip Screenwriter Michael Eging

Alexia Melocchi with Little Studio Films has discovered Michael Eging through InkTip. He initially queried her after seeing her name in the InkTip newsletter so many times, but her standard policy is to ask writers who are seeking representation whether they have a script on InkTip already because, frankly, it’s a lot easier to log in and view the script online than it is to reply to a query

So when he said yes, she checked out his work and realized he had the sort of material her clients were looking for. She quickly signed him and is now representing him as a manager. Alexia Melocchi is a Literary Manager and Producer and long-time InkTip fan who reps writers, directors and other producers. Her upcoming production credits include "Remember Their Names," which is to be directed by Mimi Leder (“The Peacemaker”), and "Stalking Simone Le Bon" which is to be directed by Jim Fall (“The Lizzie McGuire Movie”).

Amy tends to find the best writers on InkTip, but in this case, Amy was the one discovered on InkTip when manager Marcello Robinson, owner and CEO of 777 Entertainment Group, saw her name on the InkTip successes page. So he called InkTip, spoke with a Membership Executive about Abrams Artists' mandate, and arranged an introduction for his writer, David Lopresti. Amy Wagner is one of our favorite members, as you can no doubt tell from the 2-minute video featuring an animated version of her on the InkTip homepage. And Marcello Robinson, who’s been an InkTip member for many years now, has already discovered a bunch of talented writers on the site.

Jesse was impressed by the script's authenticity which is due in part to Kingery's "voice." For 11 years he was the play-by-play broadcaster for the Denver Nuggets and presently can be heard calling the action for the Colorado Rockies. The script is based on the life of pro basketball all-star John Brisker, who was blacklisted by the NBA, and who subsequently disappeared in Uganda under Idi Amin's rule. This sort of story is a natural next step for Jesse Lawler, who recently completed "Dead Air" with Corben Bernsen and who has been working his way up in budgets since starting Antibody Films four years ago. This is Michael Brody's second option through InkTip.

After setting up projects at Universal with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer as well as at Touchstone Pictures/Disney, Robert now heads Coliseum Pictures. In light of Robert's background and experience in the industry, we're confident we'll be announcing a completed film soon enough.

Breven Angaelica Warren with Sogno Productions has picked up yet another project from Latin writer Fernando Gaviria. A bilingual scribe with ties to the burgeoning Hispanic market, Fernando got his first script set up with Breven's company when she beat out a handful of other producers in a bidding war. Breven is sponsoring Fernando and his script, entitled "Maras," through the National Association of Latino Independent Producers, an organization from which he won a prestigious spot in their writers' workshop, and is being mentored by Rita Hsiao ("Toy Story 2," "Mulan"). In a subsequent meeting, Fernando pitched the inspirational true story to her about a Cuban immigrant who traveled through 18 different countries on his quest to enter and gain citizenship in the United States. Breven promptly found the immigrant, optioned the rights to his story, and got Fernando working on the script, titled "18 Countries." Some of Breven's other projects include "Native Land," a "green" feature about a sustainable farm in Africa for which she's building and leaving behind a sustainable farm as a gift to the village in which she's shooting the film. This is officially Fernando's second InkTip success.
